Is Destination Moon still copyrighted? The last time the copyright was renewed is 1978, according to entry no. RE-6-506. I remember reading somewhere about a 28-year term of protection after renewal. In this case, 29 year have elapsed in 2006, so, if I'm not wrong, it should be PD by now.

A work renewed in '78 would be protected by copyright an additional 67 years, that is, until 2045. Please see Duration of Copyright: Provisions of the Law Dealing with the Length of Copyright Protection from the Copyright Office.
